November 2, 2017: Flying Colours Corp. has completed its first installation of a Rockwell Collins, Pro Line 21 Advanced avionics suite for the flight deck of a Bombardier Challenger 300. The fitting of the cockpit upgrade was carried out in conjunction with a scheduled heavy maintenance check at the Flying Colours Corp. KSUS, St Louis, Missouri. The aircraft was returned to the private customer on time and on budget.
The owner also took the opportunity to maximise the aircraft downtime by having ADS-B Out integrated to meet the mandatory requirements coming into effect in January 2020. The flexible architecture of the system enables the addition of optional features including FANS 1/A, RNP 0.3 AR, Multi-Scan Radar, and Synthetic Vision System, at a future date, with minimal effort. With the new avionics suite in place aircraft value can be maintained, situational awareness is elevated, pilot workload is reduced and the aircraft benefits from enhanced operational efficiency.
