*** Updated: December 12, 2019 - The first flight of the first Air Canada A220 was moved forward to December 11 because of delays in having the airplane ready
First Air Canada Airbus A220 (CSeries) did its maiden flight yesterday, December 11, 2019 at Mirabel Airport YMX
The first Air Canada Airbus A220 left the factory for the first time today Monday November 26, 2019.
The Airbus crew did taxi the aircraft, registered C-GROV, under its own "engine power" to the holding bay 24 at Mirabel Airport, Quebec, Canada located next of the threshold of runway 24.
Mirabel Airport is where Airbus has its main A220 final assembly line formerly own by Bombardier as the CSeries aircraft production facility.
The first Air Canada A220 aircraft left the Airbus facility at 1h40AM local time (06h40 UTC) today using taxi T(ango) and B(ravo). (November 26, 2019)
The top image shows the aircraft precise location as transmitted by the aircraft mode-s transponder and received by my personal transponder receiver. Mode-S transponders allow for the transmission of the aircraft precise GPS location and more.
Air Canada first A220 is manufacturer serial number (MSN) 55067 and the uniquely assigned transponder the ICAO identification code C0730E (hex).
Write down Friday Mirabel Airport in your agenda. Why? This is the date Airbus did schedule the first flight of this aircraft, for this Friday, November 29 if all goes well with its initial testing on the ground.
On the picture below you can see an exclusive fliegerfaust pictures taken inside this same first Air Canada Airbus A220 aircraft few days ago while it was still being prepared for delivery.

As I reported few days ago (read article and more here) this new A220 aircraft registration is C-GROV, a Canadian registration assigned to Airbus Canada, then it will be transferred to Air Canada when delivered (accepted by Air Canada and paid). Keeping the same registration is possible in this case since the buyer (Air Canada) is also Canadian.
For amusement I also mentioned what could have be the meaning of the letters C-GROV: "Canadian Great Return On Value". BUT in fact the first Airbus A220 to be delivered to Air Canada is registered C-GROV in the honor of its CEO, Calin Rovinescu. Read more about him here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calin_Rovinescu
