Airbus disappointed many in the Quebec aeronautics industry on Tuesday by announcing that the interior finishing of the luxury version of its A220 aircraft would be carried out in the United States.
The aircraft manufacturer has reached an agreement with the Swiss firm Comlux, which will carry out this work in Indianapolis. The government of Quebec is however a 25% shareholder of Airbus Canada after investing $ 1.3 billion in the former CSeries of Bombardier.
The Montreal region is one of the hotspots for the production of business jets in the world.
Bombardier operates the Laurent-Beaudoin Finishing Center there, where the interiors of Global business jets are produced.
