Layovers. Commercial flight attendants would rarely have more than a 24 hour layover. Corporate ones on the other hand can have anywhere from a couple hours to a several days in one place (the longest layover I had was 7 days in France). Your crew Commercial flight attendants travel with more crew members depending on type of aircraft usually 3-5 cabin attendants per cabin vs private - most likely in private aviation you’ll have 2 pilots and one cabin attendant per entire plane. Say it’s an ideal position for an introverted traveller but who said you can’t meet new friends along the road? ;) 3. Responsibilities Corporate aviation: you’ll have the entire plane to yourself and max of 25 passengers per plane. This is a big Pro but with that comes more. You’ll be a super-woman/man whose responsibilities include but not limited to 1) cleaning, 2) catering , 3) prepping cabin for take offs and landings 4) safety checks. 5) keeping track of inventory and its replenishment 6) incidental reports etc Oppose to corporate world Commercial FA responsibilities are always divided between crew members. 1) attending a “brief” meeting before each flight 2) checking in pax, checking tickets and seating 3) greeting/safety checks 4) serving/collecting garbage- 1 crew member serves up to 50 seats at a time 5) incidental reports etc 3. Training Most commercial airlines will pay for your initial training and you’ll need to do your recurrent every year oppose to private aviation. Very important Corporate flight attendants almost always pay for their own training!!! And it varies from 2500-3500 USD per initial and from $450 for a recurrent one(online) depending on a flight school you’re attending. But don’t let it freak you out. You’ll earn your money back in no time guaranteed. In my next post I’ll reveal such differences as Scheduling, Type of passenger & Earning potential. Shall I? Hit ❤️ and comment “YES” below
