Airbus released on October 7 that fourteen (14) A220 aircraft were purchased in September by two undisclosed customers. One customer for 10 A220-100 aircraft and another customer for 4 A220-300
According to sources the customer who ordered the 4 A220-300 aircraft is the national airline of the Czech Republic, Czech Airlines.
Interesting to note that Czech Airlines just revised its number of A320neo it has ordered down by 4 from 7 to three 3. (source)
Czech Airlines, with a fleet size of 14 aircraft is owned at 98% by Smartwings having itself a fleet size of 48 aircraft, of which 7 Boeing 737 MAX 8 grounded since March 2019.
Swartwing is known for having flown on August 22, 2019 a Boeing 737 on just one engine for 2 hours continuing its flight to Prague instead of executing the emergency procedure and to land at a closer airport.
