Off-duty pilot helps to land the aircraft after captain becomes unwell

Porto, Portugal - On Aug. 26, an off-duty pilot on board of a Jet2.com plane helped the first officer in the cockpit to carry out an emergency landing after the captain got sick.
The unnamed off-duty pilot was flying from Manchester to Madeira in Portugal to spend his vacation when the incident happened.
The Boeing 757 of the British low-cost Jet2.com was diverted to Porto for an emergency landing.
The runway of the Francisco de Sá Carneiro International Airport was closed to other flights for half an hour until the aircraft lands safely.
