Spirit Employees Told To Return To Work On Boeing 737 MAX Just 2 Days After Company Announced 2 Week Shutdown

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -
Last week, Spirit Aerosystems said it was suspending operations for 2 weeks over coronavirus concerns, but many employees were called back to work Monday and are wondering why.
"We congregated like it was church, you know, and right now, you're not supposed to go to church," said a Spirit employee, who did not want to be identified. " I was surprised to get a phone call to work on grounded 737 MAX jets," he said.
That employee we spoke to said the work he and others were called in to do was pointless, saying essentially all they did was vacuum the fuselages of the still-grounded 737 MAX, and that they couldn't even do it safely.
