Boeing is planning to make the first test flight of its newly developed 777X jet in late June.
This is slightly later than the previous plan since Boeing is very cautious after the second fatal 737 MAX 8 crash in less than half a year.
Chief Executive Dennis Muilenburg told reporters that the 777X program is still on track. The revolutionary wide-body of the manufacturer is expected to enter into service in 2020.
With its new aircraft program, Boeing hopes to increase its market share in the high-capacity wide-body jet segment. The 777X will compete with the Airbus's 365-seat A350-1000..
