Bombardier Inc. moving Global 5000 interior work to Wichita to help make room for Global 7000 completion center in Montreal.
Bombardier announced Friday in Montreal a ramp up on the Global 7000, saying in a press release that it would mean the eventual addition of around 1,000 new jobs in Canada via the establishment there of the interior completion center for the new jet.
A Bombardier spokesperson confirmed the move, saying that it is expected to occur in the second half of 2018 and mean the addition of around 100 new local jobs.
More details are expected at an announcement event at the company's Wichita site scheduled for Friday afternoon.
