Many cruise ships empty of their passengers are now floating and parked just south of Freeport, Bahamas.
Carrying only their employees, they are now in international waters and gathering together.
Employee on-board Princess cruise ships, for example, are told their ships will be travelling to the company home in Norway sometime in the future. They are also told they will be paid at least until May 16. What is understood is that the crew will be remaining on-board until then.
What is to happen after is not totally clear to the employees. For example the Crown Princess cruise ship has a crew size of 1200 people. More for newer and larger cruise ships.
See the image as where some of their cruise ships are now gathering in international water east of Ft-Lauderdale, Florida.
There is no COVID-19 case reported on those ships. It might be a very safe place to be for the time being.
