At long last, here's something that should definitely be deemed positive: Repairs are underway on Bombardier CSeries FTV1 (C-FBCS). Yeah!
As the Worst Case Scenario Division of Internet Rumour Mill (Worldwide) Inc. initially had it , heavy damages consequent to the May 29 2014 event, --3 months ago next week already--, were beyond repair. Yes, as ugly rumours graphically went on, Bombardier would either "scrap" FTV1 or send it "very early in its life" to the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa. Tongue-in-cheek or dead serious, depending on who was doing the talking, it was also surmised that battered FTV1 was being purchased by Pratt & Whitney and (would you believe!) slated to become a test rig for AIRBUS engines? Should this sound funny at all? I'm not sure. It might depend on who's reading this ultimately.
But no! This is not a rumour, FTV1 will fly again! Absolutely, that very same airplane we saw doing the maiden flight for CSeries on September 16, 2013, a year ago in 3 weeks' time, should be cleared for takeoff pretty soon. A totally new bird, built from scratch, not restricted to an existing airplane design, CSeries was designed with a "sky's the limit" rationale, a lovely plane with a great future. How great of a future? I will have something about this soon...
Again, repairs are underway on Bombardier CSeries FTV1 (C-FBCS). As well, I'm expecting to see FTV2 starting its engines soon… not in a few weeks, but "in a few days". Let's see.
