A new Airline Client has Signed for 20 CS300 CSeries
According to some very good sources, the 20 CSeries CS300 bought by Ilyushin Finance Co. (IFC) has found a client! I'm told the color of the airline is "red".
Remember that the IFC CSeries order was revised down 2 years ago:
"Subsequent to the end of the second quarter, we restructured the purchase agreement signed in 2013 with Ilyushin Finance Co. (IFC), a Moscow-based leasing company, to align with their current market needs. The firm order has been modified from 32 CS300 aircraft and options for an additional 10 CS300 aircraft to 20 CS300 aircraft and one Q400 aircraft with options for five additional Q400 aircraft." reference: https://ir.bombardier.com/en/press-releases/press-releases/64880-bombardier-reports-second-quarter-2016-results
Who could be the "red" client"? Since IFC is a Russian company, a "red" Russian airline client would make perfect sense.
Vim Airlines? Nope, its license was revoked in November 2017 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VIM_Airlines

Here is the revised CSeries deliveries schedule for April from what I've learned.
Down from the expected 4 deliveries in April Mirabel Bombardier (Airbus in a few days) is now working hard for 3 deliveries by the end of the month (more below).
The enhanced QA process I mentioned in my previous update (read here) is identifying more snags. This requires more attention/correction on aircraft before being transfer to the pre-delivery test pilots. This enhanced QA is now allowing the assembly line to see some adjustments reducing the amount of unsatisfactory work going further from the aircraft coming along behind.
A confirmation of the success of this improved process will be reflected in a shorter time spent in pre-delivery flight time and client acceptance.
That said. Still with 3 CSeries deliveries for April, Mai and June would already be a 100% improvement in the delivery rate. Delivery rate for 2017 was 1.5 aircraft per month. For the month of March 4 aircraft were delivered with 0 in January and 1 in February (read about the reasons here).
Mirabel: An overview.
The number of CSeries with wings installed currently at the Mirabel airport assembly facility is 25 plus 2 at the fuselage assembly stage (no wing).
Part of those 25 CSeries one is currently having its interior installed at Avianor until it returns for further completion, this is Korean Air CS300 MSN 55031. It will then be replaced by another Korean Air CS300. Also outside the main production line and parked outdoor is the first CSeries Business Jet sold (still unannounced by Bombardier) MSN 55017 and the following aircraft 50007, 50008, 50009, all CS100. Also currently outdoor is SWISS CS100 MSN 50019. The CSeries that was stored inside Nolinor hangars as previously reported, Korean Air MSN 55037, is back into the assembly line.
(Remember, all CSeries manufacturers serial number (MSN) beginning with 50 are CS100 and by 55 are CS300, each following with their distinct ongoing serial sequence)
Regarding this last one (MSN 50019), its younger brother MSN 50018, another SWISS CS100, has returned into the assembly line after spending over a year outdoor with 50019 (more below).
Mirabel airport has 25 CSeries aircraft with wings but the number currently in the assembly and completion process is 20, including the one at Avianor.
The first Delta CSeries MSN 50020 fuselage assembly is progressing. It should start receiving its wings and landing gears as soon as the production line moves forward. In the past, aircraft at this position took about 6 months to their delivery. With the increase delivery rate we might see the first Delta CSeries being delivered in 4 months if things are like expected? But personally I'll plan for 6… so October. Following behind are the next 2 Delta CSeries, MSN 50021, 50023 in early fuselage assembly.
From the 20 CSeries (with wings) currently in active completion are 6 airBaltic CS300, 5 Korean Air and 9 SWISS (8 CS300 + 1 CS100, also + 1 CS100 parked outdoor).
As for the SWISS CS100 which has returned into the assembly line (MSN 50018), since it has spent an extend time outdoor facing all Quebec seasons, the CSeries employees are currently inspecting for potential water damages and updating it to the level of the currently produced CSeries.
Yes, all CSeries are not equal, as time goes by some changes are implemented on the production line changing the aircraft being produced.
This next SWISS CS100 should be delivered by the end of October. Delivery of the following SWISS CS100, MSN 55019 should be around May 2019 from what I've learned, so expect to see that one back in the assembly line around November 2018 (6 months prior I'm assuming unless things get faster).

24 to 26 is the current number of CSeries engine (PW1500G from Pratt & Whitney USA) at the Mirabel facility, not slowing down any CSeries production whatever as reported by other media… (read my previous update). Remember, the "geared turbofan" (GTF) is not a P&W Canada product.
What to expect in next few days?
The next 5 CSeries deliveries are for the same client, SWISS. The 3 expected deliveries for April are, obviously, for SWISS. Is SWISS able to take 3 new aircraft per month? I said per month because it is also what is planned for May. May delivery schedule is for 3 SWISS (55030, 55032, 55033), 1 airBaltic (55034) and 1 Korean Air (55031), for a total of 5 CSeries deliveries, a record it would be.
MSN 55023 is getting a last minute correction. Expect maybe one more test flight with the client before its delivery.
Airbus is at work on the floor planning all the changes they will be making to accelerate the production as soon as all the paperwork is signed with Bombardier and the Government of the Province of Québec for the CSeries Holding change of control and other commitments. I'm told that all this will be done "before" the end of Mai. I'm also told that the people involved with the CSeries production are looking forward the arrival of Airbus to help them with a better organization and more resources to finally achieve their higher CSeries production goal.
Today and until April 13 Mirabel CSeries Union representative are presently in France meeting with Airbus Union leaders.Could it be that the main Airbus Unions are trying to get a united front when needed?
