There are now 265 Boeing 737 MAXes in airline service, according to data reviewed by LNA.
There are 263 MAXes in storage that appear to be previously delivered airplanes. This number is artificially inflated by the 95 MAXes that are grounded in China.
China's regulator hasn't recertified the MAX, a move widely considered political due to the long-running trade war between the US and China initiated by the Trump Administration.

In yet another blow to Boeing, the Federal Aviation Administration last month formally denied the jet maker permission to move forward with a key step in certifying its forthcoming giant widebody airplane, the 777X.
In a sternly worded letter dated May 13, which was reviewed by The Seattle Times, the FAA warned Boeing it may have to increase the number of test flights planned and that certification realistically is now more than two years out, probably in late 2023.
That could push the jet's entry into commercial service into early 2024, four years later than originally planned.
The FAA cited a long litany of concerns, including a serious flight control incident during a test flight on Dec. 8, 2020, when the plane experienced an "uncommanded pitch event" — meaning the nose of the aircraft...

New images of MH370 debris have been released by wreck hunter Blaine Gibson who is responsible for finding or securing the majority of the Boeing 777.
Mr. Gibson says many ask him if he was happy to find No Step, (below) the first piece of 370 debris he discovered.
"No I was not, finding aircraft debris from a crash makes one sad. I felt a sense of accomplishment and responsibility to ensure the debris was handed in and investigated.

Embraer got a big boost for its E-Jet E2 order book in April when it announced a firm deal for 30 E195 E2s.
"On April 23, the Company signed a firm order for 30 E195-E2 jets with an undisclosed customer, with deliveries starting in 2022.
The 30 firm orders will be included in Embraer's second quarter backlog," Embraer said in its April 29 earnings release.

The CBC says private aircraft continue to operate international flights without the need for their passengers to spend a three-day hotel quarantine when they arrive.
