On paper today should have been the worst.

Over 16 hours on duty at work. Hours and hours of delays on every flight because of bad weather. Hundreds of passengers unsure of their travel plans looking to you for answers. But it wasn’t the worst. It was kind of the best? I had a wonderful crew. I tried my best to be the truest version of myself with my passengers. We laughed, we groaned, we commiserated, and we showed empathy and compassion for one another. At the end of this day, I feel like in some capacity I made a change in some of the people who traveled with me. I saw them go from guarded and worried, to gentle and patient. By the end of it all we made something better of the day than I’m sure anyone could have expected. I got a stack of sweet little comments and I played “Closing Time” on the PA as everyone got off the plane. All in all it was pretty pretty pretty good.
