A former Bombardier Inc. plant in Northern Ireland will lead Britain's development of drone fighters after new owner Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc. was awarded a 30 million-pound ($41 million) design contract.
The three-year deal to build a prototype model will help support 100 jobs at the Belfast aero-structures factory taken over by Wichita, Kansas-based Spirit in October, the Ministry of Defence said Monday.
