Boeing just released a video trying to convince... in fact I'm not sure who... that they are Canada's Best Friend! Best friend like these companies who sent a letter to Ottawa asking to keep giving contracts to Boeing. Who? CAE of Montreal, Héroux-Devtek of Longueuil… How nice of them you say?... Oops their letter to Ottawa became public... it was not supposed to! You got the point.
Now we have this video Boeing released today where the company is trying to bring Canadians back to our "economic" sense ($) by saying Boeing represents an annual investment of $4 billion per year into Canada economy. Oh my god, oops, I mean Oh my Boeing, I feel scared already.
Boeing $4 billion economic impact to Canada seems rather small to me. Why? First, Bombardier spends more in the USA than Boeing in Canada when comparing the size of both companies.
Remember, Bombardier Aerospace "alone" did spent $2.4B into the United States of American Aerospace economy last year and that's without counting the impact of Bombardier Transportation.

Does this leaves a mere $1.6B on the "+" side from Boeing trying to bribe Canada and ask Canadians to help them kill Bombardier Aerospace top of the line CSeries? No need to think about this one too long to understand.
Does this show bluntly how Boeing perceives Canada… the Canadians? Us? That we in Canada are stupid, brainless with rootless values, a country to which everything can be controlled by a foreign nation with a simple bribe to its People! To the Government?
Sorry Charlie Brown… You just poke yourself up in the eye!
Boeing did not calculate the economic impact to Canada Bombardier represents I'm sure… Maybe their public relation firm should do it before their next video.
The aerospace industry in Canada is about a $20+ billions GDP impacting about 200 000 jobs where Bombardier Aerospace is its backbone.
Is Boeing really trying to Bribe Canada so to let them make an unfounded complaint against Bombardier and its famous CSeries because Delta bought 75 of it? A bid where Boeing did not participate? A bid where Boeing did not and still does not have, and neither is planning to have any aircraft model answering the size requirement set by Delta?
How stupid does Boeing think we Canadians are, really?
Boeing is just trying to kill a potential future competitor being so scared of Bombardier CSeries… if only Bombardier had much more cash to push it right, Boeing would be in deep sh.. China you said?
Hey Boeing, if you want the CSeries, just buy it out... There's a price to everything and you can afford it I'm sure... Or United Technologies maybe can?

Canadians are polite… and this is where I will stop.
